Privacy Policy for the App Bienchen

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy informs you about which data is collected when you use our app „Bienchen“, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. Data We Collect

a) Data You Provide

Bienchen can be used without registration or a user account. We collect neither your email address nor any other login data. Only in the context of voluntary support requests may information you provide (e.g. contact details and the content of your request) be processed.

b) Access to Your Photos

Bienchen is designed to help you tidy up your photo library. Access to your photos takes place exclusively locally on your device and only with your consent. Your photos are not transmitted, uploaded, or stored on external servers by us or any third party. Selecting, keeping, or deleting photos happens entirely on your device.

c) Automatically Collected Data

To ensure technical functionality and to improve our app, we use the service Sentry (error and crash reporting). The following information may be collected:

  • technical error and crash reports (crash data)
  • device information (e.g. model, operating system, app version, language)
  • IP address (in shortened/anonymized form)

No content from your photos is processed in this context.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

  • providing and operating the app’s features
  • ensuring technical functionality
  • detecting and fixing technical errors and crashes
  • processing and managing in-app purchases
  • improving the app

4. Error and Crash Reporting (Sentry)

To detect and fix technical errors, we use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA). This involves processing technical error reports as well as device and usage information. Processing may also take place on servers outside the EU (USA); in such cases, appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) are applied.

5. Monetization and In-App Purchases

Digital content or features can be purchased within the app via in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled exclusively by the respective platform providers (Apple App Store / Google Play Store).

To manage and validate purchases, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). Technical information for validating transactions may be processed in this context. Processing may also take place on servers outside the EU (USA); in such cases, appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) are applied.

6. Disclosure to Third Parties

Your personal data is not shared with third parties – except:

  • for the use of technical service providers (e.g. Sentry, RevenueCat) who are contractually obligated to comply with data protection regulations
  • to fulfill legal obligations

7. Access to Device Functions

Bienchen accesses the following functions only with your consent:

  • access to your photo library (the app’s core function; processing takes place locally on the device)
  • push notifications (optional)

You can adjust or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

8. Location Data

Bienchen does not process any location data.

9. Legal Basis

Your personal data is processed on the basis of:

  • your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR (e.g. access to photos, push notifications)
  • our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in the technical functionality, error correction, and improvement of the app
  • the performance of a contract pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR in connection with in-app purchases

You may revoke any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as needed in order to adapt it to legal or technical developments. The current version can always be found in the app.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • access to your stored data
  • rectification or erasure
  • restriction of processing
  • data portability
  • objection to processing
