Privacy Policy for the Capsy App

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy explains what data is collected when using our app “Capsy”, how we use it, and what rights you have.

2. Data Collected

a) Data you provide

When using Capsy, the following data may be collected:

  • Email address (for registration and login)
  • Content of your letters (e.g. text and entered information)
  • Information you provide when contacting support

b) Automatically collected data

To improve our app, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. The following information may be collected:

  • App usage (e.g. screen views, session duration)
  • Device information (e.g. model, operating system, language)
  • Technical error reports (crash data)
  • IP address (in anonymized/shortened form)

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Providing and operating the app
  • Storing and managing your letters
  • Authentication (login via email code)
  • Sending emails (e.g. verification or reminder messages)
  • Analyzing and improving the app
  • Ensuring technical functionality

4. Email Delivery (SendGrid)

We use SendGrid (Twilio Inc.) to send emails (e.g. login codes or reminders).
Your email address is processed solely for the purpose of delivering these messages.

5. Monetization and In-App Purchases

Digital content (credits) can be purchased within the app via in-app purchases.
Payment processing is handled exclusively by the platform providers (Apple App Store / Google Play Store).

We use RevenueCat to manage purchases. Technical information may be processed to validate transactions.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • with technical service providers (e.g. Firebase, SendGrid, RevenueCat) who are contractually obligated to comply with data protection regulations
  • where required by law

7. Hosting and Data Processing

The app uses services provided by Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd.).
Data is processed on servers within the European Union.

8. Access to Device Features

Capsy only accesses the following features with your consent:

  • Push notifications (e.g. reminders when letters become available)
  • Biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint) to protect your content

These features are optional and can be disabled at any time.

9. Location Data

Capsy does not process any location data.

10. Legal Basis

The processing of your personal data is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as necessary to reflect legal or technical changes.

The current version is always available within the app.

12. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your stored data
  • request correction or deletion
  • request restriction of processing
  • data portability
  • object to processing
